Perhaps you may need to have several tables, perhaps even of only one row each, with no inter-table spacing, so that they appear as a single table although actually several. Apache OpenOffice 4.1.8 on Xubuntu 20.04.1 (mostly 64 bit version) and very infrequently on Win2K/XP. Make sure you have the aspect ratio locked. You can do this in Format
Object (check both 'lock aspect ratio' in the Size tab, and 'Relative
to original picture size').
If you have dynamically linked, it's not necessary to call Excel from
within Word, but open the source (xls) file. Then make the changes,
and the Word document shd reflect them without changing the size of the
table.
